Bread Recipes - Multigrain Toast

Avocado Toast (serves 1)

Ingredients

  1. 1 slice of Multigrain toast
  2. ½ of an Avocado, peeled & seeded
  3. Juice of ¼ lime
  4. Pinch of salt & pepper
  5. Olive oil (for brushing)
  6. 1 egg, fried, scrambled, or poached (optional)
  7. Dried chili flake (for garnish)

 

Method

  1. Brush olive oil over bread and toast for 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly browned.
  2. In a bowl, combine avocado, lime juice, salt and pepper, mash to combine.
  3. Spread mixture over toasted bread. Top with egg if desired.
  4. Sprinkle with chili flakes.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich (serves 1)

Ingredients

  1. 2 slices of multigrain toast
  2. 1 tbsp of basil pesto
  3. 3 slices of thinly shaved ham
  4. 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  5. 1 tbsp of shredded mozzarella cheese
  6. 2 – 3 slices of tomato
  7. Butter (for spreading)

 

Method

  1. Spread pesto on both sides of the bread.
  2. Layer ham, cheese and tomato slices on top of 1 slice of bread. Carefully assemble the sandwich.
  3. Apply a thin layer of butter on the outside of the bread.
  4. Heat a small non-stick pan over medium high and grill the sandwich for about 2 minutes each side or until golden brown and cheese melts.

Cream Cheese Strawberry Toast (serves 1)

Swissbake Multigrain Toast

 

Ingredients

  1. 1 slice of Multigrain toast
  2. 20g of strawberries
  3. 5g of sugar
  4. Cream cheese spread
  5. Olive oil (for brushing)
  6. Mint (for garnish)

 

Method

  1. Wash and cut strawberries into quarters and sprinkle sugar over. Leave aside for about 20 minutes.
  2. Brush olive oil over bread and toast for 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly browned.
  3. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese on toasted bread.
  4. Lightly smash strawberries with fork and spoon strawberries over cream cheese.
  5. Sprinkle with mint leaves.
