Bread Recipes - Wholemeal Toast

Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich (serves 1)

 

Ingredients

  1. 2 slices of Wholemeal toast
  2. 10g of butter
  3. 20g of peanut butter
  4. 5g of honey
  5. 10g of bitter-sweet chocolate chips
  6. ½ of a banana, sliced
  7. 15g strawberry jam (or other berry jam)

 

Method

  1. Mix peanut butter and honey together. Spread on 1 slice of bread.
  2. Sprinkle chocolate chips over peanut butter.
  3. Lay banana slices over chocolate chips evenly.
  4. Spread jam on the other slice of bread. Carefully assemble the sandwich.
  5. Spread butter on the outer surface of the bread.
  6. Heat a small non-stick pan over medium high and grill the sandwich for about 2 minutes each side or until golden brown.

Grilled Hazelnut Cocoa & Marshmallow Sandwich (serves 1)

Swissbake Wholemeal Toast

 

Ingredients

  1. 2 slices of Wholemeal toast
  2. 20g of hazelnut cocoa spread
  3. 10g of mini marshmallows
  4. 5g toasted almond flakes
  5. Butter (for spreading)

 

Method

  1. Spread hazelnut cocoa on 1 side of the bread and top with marshmallow and almond flakes.
  2. Carefully assemble the sandwich.
  3. Apply a thin layer of butter on the outer surface of the sandwich.
  4. Heat a small non-stick pan over medium high and grill the sandwich for about 2 minutes each side or until golden brown.

Dark Chocolate & Strawberry French Toast (serves 2)

Swissbake Wholemeal Toast

 

Ingredients

  1. 2/3 cup of milk
  2. 1 egg
  3. ½ tsp of vanilla extract
  4. Pinch of salt
  5. 50g of strawberries
  6. 10g of sugar
  7. 50g of dark chocolate (at least 65% cocoa)
  8. 4 slices of whole meal toast
  9. 20g of butter (more for frying)
  10. Olive oil

 

Method

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium shallow dish, stirring well with a whisk.
  2. Wash and cut strawberries into quarters. Place them in a bowl and sprinkle over sugar. Leave aside for about 20 minutes.
  3. Place bread slices on a flat surface. Spread butter on all bread slices.
  4. Divide and sprinkle chocolate on 2 slices of bread. Top chocolate with 1 tbsp of marinated strawberry.
  5. Carefully assemble the sandwich.
  6. Carefully dip 2 sandwiches in milk mixture, turning to coat.
  7. Heat a small non-stick pan over medium high and add about ½ tbsp oil and butter and grill the sandwich for about 2 minutes each side or until golden brown.
  8. Cut each sandwich in half diagonally. Serve with remaining marinated strawberries.
